I have been doing live in care for the last 18 years and I worked in a nursing home for two years before that. Am passionate about my work and I love what I do. I am naturally compassionate towards others, have patience, a good listener, hard working and have a genuine interest in caring.
Able to work well with others as well as using my own initiative.
I have NVQ2 and NVQ3 in social care and all my training is up to date i.e manual handling ,medication ,food hygiene, fire safety, infection control etc.
During this time, as a live-in carer, I have cared for people with different types of health conditions and different care needs from clients with dementia, Alzheimer’s, MS, Parkinson’s and peg feeding, to Learning disabilities, elderly clients etc. During these assignments, l assisted clients with their day to day care needs i.e personal care, shopping, laundry preparation of meals, medication
home administration companionship, help with drawing their support and care plans escort them to hospital appointments and social events etc.
Am a non smoker and no pets.
